Hullo! The little dress got done on time eventhough I just blogged about this now :-) I am so happy that Holly got something new to wear. This is the pattern I drafted for our class to use, and tomorrow I am seeing the works of my students so I am pretty excited about that.
When I get around to converting it to vector, I will most likely post this pattern as a freebie here on the site. This dress was completely hand-sewed using back-stitches, so it's easy to do. No sewing machine this time. I had a lot of fun doing the little french knots all over the dress! There was a time when I could not for the life of me get french knots right, so I guess that is why I over-compensate now LOL.
I tried to illustrate some of the stitches I did above (knotted stitch was copied from the book Ilove as mentioned in the previous post). Isn't the knotted stitch such a lovely raised stitch? Let me know if you try it out in a project! Oh and the crimp bead is a really tiny bead that is used in jewelry making.
So that's that for the May Stitch-Along of Feeling Stitchy! :-) But guess what? There's the June Stitch-Along coming right up! This time, we get to choose from all the free embroidery patterns available on-line. Fun, fun, fun! Head over to their blog and see some great samples to get you started.
As for me, back to the drawing board and dream of something cute :-) p.s. this is usually how I look (and dress! in Deer Husband's clothes) when I am sewing tiny things. Comfort is KEY!! haha Bye everyone!
Peace. Love. Dream. Get Comfy!
