Hullo! Finally I am back and hopefully can stay still for a week should I be so lucky :-) While I was away, Kristine left a lovely comment and also asked about the camera used to take the photos found in the blog. So, I will share with you all what is in my camera bag.
1. Canon Kiss X4. This camera is also knows as the Digital Rebel T2i or Canon 550D. My first digital SLR camera was the original Digital Rebel and was my constant companion for 6 years. This year I took the leap and upgraded to it's spankier older brother :-) For girls with small hands, these are perfect :-)
2. Canon EF Lens 50mm 1:1.8. It's the lens and not the camera that can give you clear and lovely photos, and for that I am totally attached to my 50mm lens. There are many lenses in my wishlist but they are way out my price range for now, so thank you Canon for making a lovely lens that will not break the bank! These are easy to find in camera shops everywhere, and really takes wonderful photos and bokehs.
3. Canon EF-S Zoom Lens 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 with Image Stabilizer (IS). This is the stock lens that comes with the camera. Although you will hear a lot of negative reviews about stock lenses, I for one can say that it really is up to you how you will maximize what you have, specially these new ones which have image stabilization which really helps in low-light situations. The non-IS stock lens was the ONLY lens I used with my old Rebel and have 6 years worth of memorable photos that I am proud of :-)
4. Tamron Tele-Macro Lens 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 LD. Sometimes I want to shoot a bird high up on a tree, or a beautiful insect on a leaf, and this affordable zoom/macro lens comes handy. It is terrible in low-light situations but for a lovely summer day it is fun to have around :-)
5. Canon Speedlite 420EX Flash. Off-camera flash is a must, and this is the most affordable one from Canon that I have been happily using albeit shortcomings for the past 7 years :-) But within the year I will most likely add the affordable Yongnou YN-465 TTL Flash to my camera bag since it will give me more control without once again, breaking the bank.
And that is what is in my camera bag. There is also another camera bag around here to celebrate love of film but let's save that for another post :-).
